Biography
He became the first rider to win two TT’s in one week when, in 1925, he won both the Ultra-Lightweight and Junior races. He started his TT career in 1922 and during the next thirteen years rode in 28 TT races, winning four and finishing second three times. Handley also established nine record or fastest laps, and went on, after retiring from motorcycle racing, to complete a splendid career on four wheels.
His final TT victory was in the 1930 Senior and, tragically, he was killed during the Second World War while serving as a pilot with the Air Transport Auxiliary.
