Billy Wade Boyd, father of TT regular Wade, rode in his one and only TT in 1966.
Al Fergoda sponsored the 250 Yamaha, but the name had to be covered up, as advertising was not permitted then.
He was the first rider to wear non-black leathers, his were bright red.
He was also the first one to have an (old) open face helmet, and they
did not want to pass that helmet at the time. They still ran with the
Porridge pot helmets in those days.
Also his Wife was refused a position as a Rider, so she went home,
His son made his TT debut in 1992.
