Biography

From The TT Special 10th June 1955

Ken Swallow has had Grand Prix rides, finishing four times. A representative from Brockholes, near Huddersfield, he has also competed at Scarborough, Cadwell Park, Brough, Dunholme and Esholt.

Of 1952 Ken said: This appears to be my lucky year I have been given two sponsored rides by two 100 per cent sportsmen, and after six hard gruelling years struggling against time and expense in the Manx Grand Prix.

And he didn’t do to badly either. He didn’t finish high up, but he did finish 33rd in the Junior on an AJS at 78.29 mph., and 22nd in the Senior on a Norton at 83.29 mph with a couple of bronze replicas.

Luck deserted him in 1953, for he was a non – finisher on both Junior and Senior races, but last year he did manage to finish in both – 48th in the Junior and 47th in the Senior.
