Biography
For most of his adult life Sonny was a keen side-car racer in the North East Centre. He became North East scrambling champion and won the Jonty Miller Memorial Trophy at Gateshead Motor Club in 1965.
Sonny, a former glazier was a lovely man with a dry sense of humour. He never thought badly of anyone and would often go out of his way to help people. He loved side-car racing and was well-respected in the sport. He was very brave and would push himself to the limit for his sport.
Sonny along with his passenger Ian Wilson competed in the sidecar TT races 6 times from ‘73 – ‘79
