Biography
Tony was an engineer and works BSA rider whose first rode in the TT in 1967 on a 500cc Triumph Daytona.
Tony managed to cram in enough course knowledge in the limited practice time available and given guidance by former racer Alan Shepherd, who was then working for BSA he managed to finish third in the 750cc production race.
A feat he was to repeat the following year.
In 1969 he hoped to better his third place and looked set to do so, having set the fastest qulaifying lap in the final practice session. Then on the second lap in the race, the BSA developed clutch slip and his hopes faded.
In 1970, Tony finished 9th in the Lightweight 250cc, despite having no front brake.
Giving the 1971 TT a miss, he returned in 1972 riding in both the Formula 750cc and Production 750cc TT's, unfortunately retiring in both races.
