All things local at Bushy's TT Village
Bushy’s will pave the way for its 22nd year this TT. Each year, we’ve become accustomed to the thousands of enthused visitors, riders and residents who loyally follow the emblematic fox from pub to pub, along the Promenade to the Bushy’s TT Village - and 2019 will be no exception.
2018 saw a huge rise in attendance numbers, as Bushy’s announced the arrival of the Bushy’s TT Village and a new home at the iconic Villa Marina Gardens – one of the Island’s landmark event venues. Despite this impressive growth, Bushy’s remains true to their support of all things local, and will continue to showcase Island businesses, up-and-coming talent and artisan produce throughout the much-loved two-week event.
The famed Bushy’s TT Stage - hosted by local production specialists ELS - is a mecca for local bands and performers, and a celebrated platform for the Island’s rising talent. Bushy’s is passionate about supporting local artists of all ages - testament to the event’s evolving mix of music that now combines acoustic and more contemporary styles alongside its characteristic rock. UK and international acts also feature on the two-week line-up, providing Island-based bands with the opportunity to perform alongside recognised names from the off-Island music industry.
Bombshell singer Shelley Langan said, “Bushy’s main stage is the big ticket item of the year for local bands, and to get a slot is golden. With the festival atmosphere and Bushy’s pulling in the crowds - it’s unlike any other experience in the band’s calendar. We kicked off our first gig last year at the Bushy’s Charity Day, and we’re absolutely delighted to be back again this year, but with a Mad Sunday slot too.”
Another big hit at the Bushy’s TT Village is the gathering of local food producers offering an eclectic choice of street food. Pop-up food vendors include long-standing food businesses and the Island’s emerging food and drink entrepreneurs, cooking up all sorts of fresh local fare including smoked meats from a styled steam train, New York inspired cheese grill, tasty vegetarian dishes, fresh locally caught fish, and new Island-based gelato brand. The Village will continue to celebrate locally brewed and distilled drinks from several bars across the Beer Tent, Gardens and Upper Colonnade Terrace including the new G&TT Bar, guaranteed to be a hit with bikers and locals this year.
The TT Village’s new hospitality and premium access terraces Upstairs at Bushy’s will see locally-sourced meats and fresh vegetables cooked up on open firebowls by Island chefs using the event to showcase new outdoor cooking trends. Additional local food and drink pop-ups and venues will feature on the Bushy’s TT map, which is distributed to 12,000 visitors and bikers Island-wide in the lead up to and throughout TT.
Bushy’s TT Village has expanded its reach for 2019 with growing support from official sponsors and partners. These combine local businesses with well-known international brands such as Pepsi, further cementing the event’s standing on the TT map and providing local organisations with a high profile platform to promote services and brand. Bushy’s has partnered with local events and sponsorship consultancy Revel, to ensure the right mix of local, national and international brand partners.
Bushy’s owner Martin Brunnschweiler concluded, “Bushy’s is proud of its Island-wide legacy and forever grateful to our customers, performers and supporting local businesses. We wouldn’t be where we are without them. It’s exciting being able share a slice of this action increasingly with visiting TT fans year-on-year."
