Dean Harrison took a well-deserved win in Wednesday’s Monster Energy Supersport TT Race 2, from Peter Hickman and James Hillier.

The Silicone Engineering Kawasaki rider led from the start of the four lap race, run in conditions that were close to perfect.

Speaking to Manx Radio TT's Chris Kinley in the winners' enclosure after the race Dean gave credit to the fans, saying "Thanks to all the fans around the course. Great to see all the programmes waving in the air, thanks for coming out and supporting our sport."

In the early stages of the race Harrison was pushed by Michael Dunlop but gradually he extended the advantage to 6.4 seconds at Ramsey on lap 2.

Looking to be in a fairly comfortable position at the halfway pitstops, Harrison was granted a reprieve from the pressure by an uncharacteristic mistake from Michael Dunlop as the Northern Irish rider was landed with a 30 second penalty for a pitlane speed infraction.

This left Harrison with a commanding lead from now second placed Peter Hickman on the Trooper Triumph by Smiths Racing. Quattro Plant JG Speedfit Kawasaki’s James Hillier, who had been holding fourth place, slid into the third podium position with Padgetts Honda mounted Conor Cummins in a strong fourth.

It is the Bradford rider's second TT win, adding to his first victory taken in 2014's Lightweight race.
