Peter Hickman took his maiden Isle of Man TT Races win on Monday afternoon, despite making a huge mistake on the first lap.

Crossing the line to take the victory in the four lap RL360º Superstock TT Race, Hickman set an astonishing lap record of 134.403mph.

Yet on the first lap he thought his hopes of taking a big bike win at the TT would have to wait for another day as he outbraked himself on the approach to Braddan Bridge on cold tyres and with a full load a of fuel.

Running on at the Oak Tree, Peter Hickman lost 20 seconds or so getting his bike turned around.

Rejoining the race in tenth place he turned in a phenomenal performance to fight hi way up the leaderboard and make a fight for the lead.

Michael Dunlop and Dean Harrison dominated the early running until Hickman re-entered the fray and from then until the finish line there was never more than ten seconds covering the first three, and mostly it was less than three seconds.

With the top three all recording a sub-seventeen minute time on the final lap this was the fastest, and one of the closest, RL360º Superstock TT Races ever.
