Bournemouth Kawasaki - John McGuinness - TT 2020

The Bournemouth Kawasaki team have revealed the ZX10RR John McGuinness will campaign at TT 2020.

It represents the first time McGuinness, who in terms of overall wins is the TT's most successful current rider, will compete on a Kawasaki in the Superbike classes.

Unveiled at the London Motorcycle Show, the newly liveried Kawasaki drew admiring responses on social media.

The 'Morecambe Missile' will be contesting the Superbike and Senior TT races on the Quattro Plant-backed machine. The Superbike TT race is scheduled to take place on Saturday, 6th June, and the Senior TT is the culmination of the 2020 event on Friday, 12th June.

John takes over the ride from James Hillier, who moves to OMG Racing after 11 years with the Bournemouth outfit. In a touching tribute to James the team have added a special graphic to the tail fairing of John's bike.

OMG Racing have signed both Hillier, and Australian star David Johnson. Johnson moves to the BMW team from the official Honda Racing Team where he partnered Ian Hutchinson in 2019.

OMG Racing made headlines of their own at the London Motorcycle Show as they announced they'd signed a deal with Rich Energy drinks, formerly the sponsors of Formula 1 team Haas.

Over at Honda meanwhile, their TT 2020 line up consists of Davy Todd, who made his TT debut in 2018, and newcomer Glenn Irwin.

Irwin is no stranger to road racing, having tasted great success at the North West 200, and is a veteran campaigner in the British Superbike Championship.
