Newcomer Mike Browne came, saw and conquered at the Colas Post TT Road Races, round seven of the Duke Road Race Rankings Championship 2019, taking his first road race win in the CuPlas Callow 600cc Race and setting the fastest lap of the race at 106.179mph and to prove his liking for the 4.25-mile Colas Billown Course the Cork rider finished third in the feature race of the event, the Colas 1100cc race on the same 600cc Kawasaki behind two 1000cc BMW machines.

In the opening 600cc race, Wigan’s Rob Hodson finished second with Rhys Hardisty third, the Gilwern rider went two better in the Manx Independent Carriers 650/250cc race taking the chequered flag on his 250cc Yamaha ahead of locals Dave Moffitt and Gavin Brown on the 650cc mounts.

Rob Hodson took the victory in the Colas 1100cc race after a close eight-lap battle with Manxie Ryan Kneen by the merest of margins 0.078 of a second.

Another local did well taking fourth in the 600cc race and sixth in the 1100cc on his return to racing after on operation on his leg during 2018.

Whilst there are no changes in the top 16 in the Duke Rankings, The Irishman now slots into 17th position, up from 53rd and upwards movement of 36, whilst Rhys Hardisty climbs 41 places from 62nd to 21st.

Rob Hodson’s win and second place elevates him into the top forty as a new entry in 28th spot.

The next two rounds take place in Finland and Southern Ireland over the weekend of 15th & 16th June, the Imatra Road Races and the Kells Road Races, before moving to Northern Ireland for the Enniskillen Road Races on 28th & 29th June.
