Michael Dunlop will contest this year’s North West 200 and Isle of Man TT onboard a Paul Bird Motorsport Ducati Panigale V4. The Ballymoney motorcycle racer had originally agreed to contest the major international road races for the British Superbike team back in 2020 before the COVID-19 pandemic and the team has now confirmed that this commitment will stand for 2022.

The 19-time TT winner last saw superbike success around the Mountain Course back in 2018 when he won the RST Superbike TT on the Tyco BMW. He will be looking to repeat this success when he rides the PBM Ducati this year in the Superbike and Senior races at this year’s event.

If Dunlop and the PBM team are successful in their bid at the TT this June it would be the first time a Ducati has won at the event since 1985 when the four-time World Champion Tony Rutter took first in the Formula 2 TT.

Here's a clip of the 7-time TT winner taking Ducati's last TT victory almost 37 years ago.
