Honda Racing UK announces road racing team for 2024 season

In an exciting move ahead of the 2024 Isle of Man TT, Honda Racing UK has officially announced Dean Harrison as the third member of its formidable trio of riders to take on the 2024 event, joining seasoned racer John McGuinness MBE and the returning Nathan Harrison. The team will also compete at the North West 200 scheduled to take place in early May.

Dean Harrison, fresh off a remarkable seven-year stint with DAO Racing, steps into the spotlight with the renowned factory Honda team. Harrison, a three-time TT winner, clinched two of his three victories with the DAO Racing team, including a spectacular Senior TT triumph in 2019.

McGuinness has also opted to remain with the Honda team having claimed 16 of his 23 TT triumphs with the Japanese manufacturer. The Morecambe Missile will embark on his 34th year of road racing in 2024 squashing any rumours of retirement.

Completing the team is Manxman Nathan Harrison who is eager to make a triumphant return to the TT circuit after missing the 2023 event due to injury. Nathan will this year be looking to make his mark on the TT having claimed his first top 10 finish in his previous outing at the event.

In terms of race focus, McGuinness is set to concentrate solely on the 1000cc classes, while both Dean and Nathan will take on the two supersport races as well.

Expressing his excitement, Dean Harrison said, “I can’t wait to begin a new chapter with Honda Racing UK. If I'm honest, it hasn’t sunk in yet, and I don’t think it will until I get to ride the bike for the first time in Honda colours.”

“It feels like a really good time to have a refresh and now is as good a time as any for a change. I have always been a Honda fan, and Honda is the way I want to go. I am also really looking forward to being part of a multi-rider team after riding in a solo team for so long.”

Team Manager Havier Beltran is equally enthusiastic, noting, “I truly believe that our line-up perfectly balances youthful enthusiasm, experience, talent and ambition, and I eagerly look forward to witnessing Dean, John and Nathan compete with these new models.”

As the countdown to the 2024 Isle of Man TT continues, the Honda Racing UK team stands poised for a promising performance with three top racers competing with the team on the roads.
