Top 2010 Newcomer confirms return for the 2012 Isle of Man TT

David Johnson, top Newcomer at the 2010 Isle of Man TT, will make his return to the Mountain circuit at the 2012 Isle of Man TT fuelled by Monster Energy.
The 28-year-old will ride for leading British Superbike Championship team Quattro Plant Kawasaki alongside Steve Heneghan in all three 1000cc races.
The team will campaign ZX-10R Kawasakis in the Dainese Superbike, PokerStars Senior and Royal London 360º Superstock Races. Heneghan will also contest the Supersport and Lightweight TT races.
Australian ace Johnson is making his much anticipated return to the TT after a year’s absence having won the Newcomers Trophy in 2010. The Adelaide rider picked up five bronze replicas from his five races in 2010 and recorded a best finish of 16th in the Senior, also setting a best lap of 123.838mph, which remains the fourth fastest Newcomer’s lap of all time.
Although he didn’t compete at the TT last year, Johnson did contest the Ulster Grand Prix in 2011, recording top 15 finishes. He will again compete in the 2012 British National Superstock 1000cc Championship for the Carbontek Racing BMW squad.
Heneghan returns to the TT for the fourth successive year and will be looking to build on the results he achieved 12 months ago, his best year so far.
The 29-year-old from Galway picked up three bronze replicas in 2011 and also posted a new personal best lap of 120.5mph. A regular now at both the TT and North West 200, Heneghan will also ride for Quattro Plant Kawasaki in this year’s British National Superstock 1000cc Championship.
John Jameson’s Quattro Plant Kawasaki team formerly known as PR Racing, started in 1995 from a workshop in Liverpool city centre and in 1999 moved up to the British Supersport Championship.
In 2002 the team moved into the British Superbike Championship, where it has remained, and the undoubted highlight was winning the 2006 BSB Privateer’s Cup with Chris Martin.
