John Holden and Phil Hyde Reunite for 'History-Making' Return

DOUGLAS, ISLE OF MAN – With the countdown to the 2026 road racing season officially in its final stages, the paddock has been a hive of activity this week. From a surge in high-calibre newcomers to veteran champions shaking up their stable of bikes, the grid for the North West 200 and the Isle of Man TT is becoming one of the most intriguing in recent history.

Richard Cooper Makes Bold Suzuki Switch for NW200

In a move that has surprised many in the paddock, Richard Cooper has confirmed he will switch manufacturers for his 2026 North West 200 campaign. The Nottinghamshire rider, who dominated the Supertwin and Supersport classes last year, will pilot Suzuki machinery in the Supertwin and Sportbike categories this May.

Following his triple-win success in 2025, Cooper’s move to the Japanese brand signals a new chapter for the 43-year-old as he looks to add to his tally on the 8.9-mile Triangle circuit.

Richard Cooper: "Last year was a dream, but the opportunity to develop the Suzuki package for the roads was too good to pass up. I’ve always enjoyed riding the GSX-R platforms, and I’m confident we can keep that winning momentum going."

Ryan Garside Graduates to Full TT Campaign

Lancashire’s Ryan Garside is the latest name to confirm a step up from the Manx Grand Prix to the 2026 Isle of Man TT. Hailing from Fleetwood, the 34-year-old will contest four races, lining up for the newly formed It’s Legit Racing team.

Garside will tackle the two Carole Nash Sportbike TT races aboard a Triumph Daytona 660 and the Monster Energy Supersport TT races on a Triumph Street Triple 765RS. This graduation follows an impressive 2025 Manx GP where he recorded a personal best lap of 118.622mph.

Ryan Garside: "I'm mega excited for the TT in 2026. I've had a couple of years learning my way around the Mountain Course and have improved steadily, so the TT is the next step I always hoped for. I can't wait to get on the boat over to the Island."

Alastair Seeley Targets Milestone 30th Win with Aprilia Debut

The most successful rider in North West 200 history, Alastair Seeley, is set to make his debut in the Supertwin class this year. The "Wee Wizard" will campaign a Binch Pro Racing Aprilia RS 660 alongside his previously announced Ducati Supersport ride.

With 29 wins already under his belt, Seeley is laser-focused on reaching the unprecedented 30-victory milestone.

Alastair Seeley: "The Aprilia is a fantastic little bike and Binch Pro Racing knows exactly how to make them fly. Adding a Supertwin to the mix gives me more track time and more opportunities to get that 30th win for the fans at home."
