The countdown to TT 2026 has begun, and fans can look forward to even more racing action, fresh class updates, and a schedule built to make the world’s greatest road race better than ever.
After the success of TT 2025, which welcomed over 51,000 fans, the biggest crowd in 15 years, the event continues to grow, attracting new spectators, more volunteer marshals, and a global following like never before. And now, with refinements confirmed for 2026, there’s never been a better time to plan your trip.
What’s New for 2026?
More Qualifying, More Action
Qualifying Week now features seven sessions (up from six), including a new daytime session on Wednesday. That means more track time, more noise, and more opportunities to see your heroes push to the limit.
Extra Rest Day
A new rest day has been added on the Thursday of Qualifying Week. This gives riders and teams a breather after three intense days – and gives fans the perfect chance to explore the Isle of Man’s attractions, from castles to coastal hikes.
Greater Flexibility
With more contingency slots built into the programme, organisers have made it easier to keep the schedule on track if the weather causes delays – without increasing overall road closure times.
Race Programme Shuffle
Superstock races will now run alongside the iconic Sidecars, while Supersport will be paired with the newly renamed Sportbike TT class (previously Supertwin). This helps balance the demands of the big 1000cc bikes across Race Week.
New Sportbike TT
The Supertwin class evolves into the Sportbike TT, opening the grid to Sportbike-spec machines that already race internationally. Expect even closer, faster competition with two Sportbike TT races on the schedule.
Looking Ahead
Provisional dates are already set for future editions – so TT fans can start planning well in advance:
TT 2027: 31 May – 12 June
TT 2028: 29 May – 10 June
With all these exciting updates, TT 2026 is shaping up to be an event you simply can’t miss.
