Simon Andrews, leading Newcomer at the 2011 Isle of Man TT will contest the all-new SuperTwins class this year.

Honda TT Legends racer Andrews will return to Ice Valley Racing by Motorsave Trade to compete in the new race at the 2012 Isle of Man TT fuelled by Monster Energy.

He will compete in the SuperTwins on the Ice Valley by Motorsave Trade 2012 ER6 Kawasaki at both the TT and North West 200.

The 28-year-old enjoyed success with the team at last year’s TT, and team owner Paul Shoesmith said tie as fantastic news Andrews would be back with the team again in 2012.

He said:

“It’s fantastic news to be able to have Simon back on board with the team for the 2012 season.”

“We had a tremendous experience with Simon last year in our team both on and off the track and he produced some extremely impressive results and finishes as a newcomer at the TT, so we hope to repeat that experience this year.”

The Evesham rider made an extremely impressive debut on the Ice Valley BMW at the 2011 TT, being the first privateer to finish, best newcomer and taking 11th place in the Senior TT, which included a 125mph+ lap and the second fastest ever lap by a TT débutante.

Andrews has been fighting back to race fitness since July, when he suffered a broken leg in a huge crash at Snetterton.

Shoesmith added:

“Simon has had a difficult year trying to get himself back to race fitness following his huge crash at Snetterton and with his commitment, determination and professional attitude to the sport I have no doubt whatsoever that he will continue to produce some impressive results and finishes in the forthcoming season.”

“The introduction of the SuperTwins class is proving to be very popular with an impressive line up and looks like it is going to be one of the highlights of the season and we feel honored to have Simon on board and believe he will continue to produce extremely impressive results for both himself and the team.”

Andrews added:

I'm really pleased to be coming back to the TT with Paul again and be part of his Ice Valley by Motorsave Trade ER6 Kawasaki! Everything worked really well last year allowing us to achieve some great results so hopefully we will do the same again this year.”

“The SuperTwins class is a popular class and new to the TT races this year which will be exciting! Paul and I are both excited about the race and to add an extra race will give me more track time this year.”

“Paul provides great bikes and a great atmosphere to work in so to be asked to ride for him again will be a great pleasure!”
