Swiss ace Herve Gantner joins Ice Valley for 2012 Isle of Man TT
Swiss rider Herve Gantner will race for Ice Valley by Motorsave Trade Racing at the 2012 Isle of Man TT fuelled by Monster Energy.
The 30-year-old joins Paul Shoesmith and Dean Harrison in the squad for the TT and North West 200, as well as other selected meetings. Simon Andrews, fastest Newcomer at the 2011 TT, will also join the team at the TT in the new SuperTwins class on 2012 ER6 Kawasaki.
The former Swiss Supersport champion will be returning to the Isle of Man to tackle the Superstock, Superbike and Senior events on the Ice Valley by Motorsave Trade BMW SS1000.
On only his second TT last year, Gantner, from Geneva, finished 27th and 32nd in the two Supersport races.
So far in his short TT career, he has won two bronze replicas and a best lap of 114.164mph.
Gantner said:
“I'm very happy to get the opportunity to ride with the Ice Valley BMW Motorrad team. The results of the team at the 2011 TT show that both bikes and team are good.”
“I can't wait to try the bike and ride it at the North West 200 and the Tourist Trophy. Up until now, my results on the roads have not been the best. However, with this new bike and Paul's experience, I expect my results to improve.”
“My goals are quite simple. I want to start from the first wave at the NW and get a 125 mph lap at the TT.”
Team Owner Shoesmith added:
“Herve is a very professional and dedicated rider and I’m certain he will produce some decent results and be an asset to the team.”
“I am looking forward to working with Herve and having him as part of our team.”
“The team has grown considerably in size this year and I am confident that the team and the machinery will achieve impressive results at all events giving our dedicated sponsors the well deserved exposure and providing some excellent racing for the fans."
