Unique images of the Isle of Man TT course will be on display during this year’s festival.

The Sayle Gallery, in the Villa Marina Arcade, Douglas, is hosting an exhibition throughout the fortnight with motorcycle-related works by Isle of Man artist Paul Parke, Roland Noble’s and photographer Martin Parnell.

During race week, on June 3, it will also host the launch of Milestones, the TT calendar in which every image is a surreal take on the history of the various TT milestones and bends.

The calendar is the brainchild of Rachael Clegg, who comes from good biking stock - her father Noel and grandfather Tom both competed around the Mountain course.

Rachael researched, designed, created and modelled for the images, which were shot by Peter Greste, former BBC foreign correspondent and current the Aljazeera African correspondent.

She said:

“Milestones took months to prepare, four weeks of 3am starts and several traffic-defying stunts.”

“All my life I’ve been submerged in bike-lore from my father, grandfather and brother – who raced in British Superstock and British Superbikes - and the Isle of Man has played a huge part in my family’s life.”

“As a journalist I’ve been reporting on the TT for a number of years and while I’ve had to accept that I lack any racing talent (or indeed basic road sense), I’ve tried to ‘do’ the TT in my own way – fusing my arty background and my anorak interest in TT history.”

“I hope that this calendar will be taken for what it is – an amusing , even classy, take on some of the more intriguing events in the history of the course.”

The exhibition runs until June 10 and the Sayle Gallery is open from 10am-5pm Tuesday to Saturday, 1.30–4.30pm on Sundays and 1–5pm on Mondays. Admission is free.

The 2013 Milestones calendar is available to order now from the official online TT shop.
