All requests for refunds following the cancellation of the Senior race at the 2012 Isle of Man TT have now been processed.
The Clerk of the Course made the difficult decision to abandon the race due to track conditions after consultation with current and former riders.
Shortly after the cancellation was announced it was confirmed all fans holding Grandstand tickets dated June 8, 2012, would be entitled to a full refund. This applied to the main Grandstand and each of the five ‘Fan Zones’.
Refunds could be claimed by completing a form and submitting it with the relevant tickets.
A spokesman said that by today (July 4) all refund application forms submitted had been processed and all refunds sent out.
He added:
“We have now processed all requests for refunds and either refunded the full amounts to bank accounts and credit cards or sent out cheques to customers. The final cheques were put into the post on Wednesday, so should be with customers in the next few days.”
“The cancellation of the Senior TT was extremely disappointing for everyone, and it was quickly decided the right thing to do was reimburse all Grandstand ticket holders for that day.”
“Our aim was to have dealt with all refund applications within one month, and we have achieved that ambition.”
The spokesman continued:
“Whilst we have processed all refund applications received to date, there may still be holders of tickets dated June 8, 2012, who have yet to apply for their refund. I would urge them to complete the form and submit it, along with the ticket/s, as soon as possible so we can process their refund.”
