Isle of Man TT winner Farquhar extends Duke Rankings lead
Ryan Farquhar, a race winner at the 2012 Isle of Man TT fuelled by Monster Energy, has extended his lead in this year’s Duke Road Race Rankings with victories at Scarborough.
He now has 2,927, well clear of nearest rival Michael Dunlop, also a winner at the 2012 TT, who has 1,262 points.
The Dungannon racer, who dominated the first SuperTwin race to be held at the TT, retained his Cock o' the North title at Oliver's Mount at the weekend.
Farquhar won five races on his KMR Kawasaki, while teammate Jamie Hamilton, one of the star newcomers at the 2012 TT, was again in the thick of the action.
Three-time TT winner Farquhar is the first rider in the Cock o'the North event’s history, which started in 1955, to win the title three years in a row. Fellow Duke Road Race Rankings winner Ian Lougher tops the trophy list with four wins in 2000, 2002, 2004 and 2008, while Farquhar shares three wins with Sid Barnett, Phil Carter, Dan Shorey, Bob Smith, Alan McDonald and Guy Martin.
TT winner Chris Palmer took victories in the Lightweight 250cc races, along with two third places in the Ultra Lightweight 125cc events, to move up six places in the Duke Rankings to 3rd.
Hamilton remains 4th, with William Dunlop, Ivan Lintin, Jamie Coward, John Burrows, John McGuinness and Derek Sheils completing the top 10.
