Isle of Man TT star Michael Rutter is targeting an eighth victory at the Macau Grand Prix.

Riding a Honda for Robin Croft’s Jezac SMT Racing team, Rutter is aiming to end his season on a high. Victory in the SES TT Zero race in June was a highlight, but his British Superbike Championship campaign was not as successful as he hoped.

His teammate for Macau is 19-times Isle of Man TT winner John McGuinness.

Rutter said:

“Macau is always a race I really look forward to throughout the year. I am really happy to be racing with the Jezac SMT Racing team, it's great to get back on a Honda and I hope I'll be able to achieve a good result for Robin and his team.”

“It's good to have a teammate like McGuinness, we get on really well and go back a long way so it will be good banter and I'm sure good racing.”

“I'm happy to have the support again from my personal sponsors Bathams and R and B (TUFTAC) and to welcome Monster Energy and Datatag on board.”

He added:

“You never know what will happen over there, but I am really looking forward to getting back out there and getting a good result, the competition as always is strong and it won't be easy, but I'm eager to get there now and get racing!”

Rutter took a record breaking seventh win around the 6.2km street circuit last year after holding six equal wins with the hugely talented Ron Haslam since 2005.

Practice starts on Thursday, with the 15 lap race on Saturday at 3.30pm local time (7.30am GMT).

Rutter will run the number one plate after the win last year.
