Remaining VIP Hospitality packages and Fanzone tickets for the 2013 Isle of Man TT fuelled by Monster Energy are selling fast, with some days already sold out.
With tickets for the main TT Grandstand already sold out, there was heavy demand when VIP passes and Fanzone tickets went on sale on Saturday morning, after the Department of Economic Development launched next year's festival at Motorcycle Live in Birmingham's NEC.
As well as demand for tickets for the 2013 TT, there was also positive interest in the new Isle of Man Festival of Motorcycling, which includes the Classic TT and the Manx Grand Prix.
More than 1,400 hospitality packages were sold in just two days, with Senior Race Day packages completely sold out and availability for June 3 and June 5 already limited.
The new TT Preview Night and MotoGP Mad Sunday Lunch events, which will be held in the official TT VIP Hospitality suite, are both close to selling out, while all of the Platinum VIP Hospitality packages for Senior Race Day sold out within 30 minutes of going on sale.
The TT Fanzones around the course, first introduced last year, have also sold well, with more than 1,500 tickets being reserved at the weekend. Wednesday's race day at Ballacrye is already at capacity, with more than half of the available tickets at most locations - Rhencullen, Creg-Ny-Baa, Crosby and Ballacrye - already sold.
The TT and Isle of Man Festival of Motorcycling have been represented at Motorcycle Live at the TT Paddock Experience Stand, created by the Department of Economic Development in conjunction with the show’s organisers. It includes a display of all of the main TT Trophies, a number of iconic TT racing motorcycles and appearances from leading TT riders. Representatives from Duke Marketing, Regency Travel and Motorsport Merchandise have all been on hand on the retail section of the stand selling merchandise, DVDs and travel and accommodation packages.
Isle of Man Tourism and Motorsport Political Member Geoff Corkish said:
“The response to our official event ticket options since going on sale at the weekend has been phenomenal and augurs well for next year's event.”
“The VIP hospitality programme has been extended and it looks like we will fill the additional capacity, while the new events that we have introduced in 2013 have all sold well at this early stage. I would encourage fans to book early to avoid disappointment.”
He added:
“With costs, particularly in relation to circuit set up and safety, increasing every year it is vital for the future of the event that we continue to grow the commercial revenue as it enables us to continue to invest in the event without increasing the funds required from the public purse.”
