Marshals are a vital part of the Isle of Man TT

If you are a fan of road racing, why not get involved in the 2013 Isle of Man TT fuelled by Monster Energy as a marshal?

The TT Marshals' Association, which manages marshalling for both the TT and the Isle of Man Festival of Motorcycling, has introduced a new on-line registration system for new and existing marshals.

IOMTTMA Chairman Terry Holmes said:

“So far we have over 300 registered with the new system, but it would be great to get as many existing marshals, as well as new ones, to register on the system, particularly before 26 March which is when we send out hard copy forms.”

“Even if people have registered in previous years, but aren't available this year, if they could still register this it will help cut down on our administration and save costs.”

The IOMTTMA was founded in 1962 and has more than 4,000 marshals registered on its database, with more than 1,750 officiating at last year’s TT and 1,350 at the Manx Grand Prix Festival.

More than 1,200 are usually on duty during at any one time during the TT, with a minimum of 500-plus required before practice or a race can take place. Marshals are positioned around the course and provide a complete line of sight across the 37.7-mile circuit.

Anyone interested in marshalling can now register on-line at www.iomttma.com.
