Michael Rutter on the KMR Kawasaki Lightweight TT 2012

Recently retired road racing maestro Ryan Farquhar is gearing up for his first Isle of Man TT races, fuelled by Monster Energy, in his new capacity as team manager.

Never one to do things by halves the Dungannon legend will field an impressive line-up of no less than eight machines across all of the solo races.

As you’d expect the Vauxhall backed KMR Kawasaki team will have its greatest presence in the BikeSocial.co.uk Lightweight TT. Four very talented riders will line-up in the all-new red, black and white livery. Leading the way will be current class lap record holder Michael Rutter, who scored third place in last year’s race.

Local hero Conor Cummins is a new addition to the team for 2013 and he’ll be having his first ever outing in the Lightweight division. Riding for Shaun Muir’s Milwaukee Yamaha team in the 600 and 1000cc classes, his appearance on the entry list adds not only further strength in depth but also ensures it will be one of the most fiercely contested races of the week.

The third member of the team will be Jamie Hamilton who comes into his second year of racing on the Mountain Course. The full-time member of KMR Kawasaki will start at number four in Friday’s race and, if he continues to make the progress already shown, he’s a definite dark horse to be amongst the podium places.

Local newcomer, Gavin Hunt completes the Lightweight line-up as he makes his Isle of Man TT debut.

22-year old Hamilton will also contest the five remaining solo races with outings on a Kawasaki ZX-6R in both Monster Energy Supersport races and a ZX-10R for the Dainese Superbike, Royal London 360° Superstock and Pokerstars Senior events.

Brian McCormack will join him in contesting all five races. The Waterford rider will be contesting the TT for the fourth successive year. Having already lapped the Mountain Course at 123.541mph, the 29-year old is sure to benefit from the skill and expertise within Farquhar’s huge squad which will be one of the most instantly recognisable at the event, both on and off the track.
