Sure sign new sponsorship deal
Sure has signed a new multi-year deal to be the official Mobile and Broadband Partner of the Isle of Man TT Races.
The agreement will see the company continue its title sponsorship of the Sure Sidecar races and as part of the commercial partnership with the Department of Economic Development, Sure is installing state of the art wireless broadband in the Glencrutchery Road grandstand and the TT Fanzones around the course.
Sure's Chief Commercial Officer Andy Bridson said ‘The TT is a major part of our commercial activity on the Isle of Man as it not only gives us a high profile presence but also provides us with an effective showcase to demonstrate how we can provide everyone from individuals to large corporations with tailor-made communications solutions.’
Underlining the commitment the company has made to the event Mr Bridson added ‘Furthermore, we are passionate about supporting our local community – and, to many, there’s nothing more important on the island than the TT! The races are part of the fabric of life on the Isle of Man – and Sure remains an integral part of the races for locals, visitors and race officials alike.’
The company has been a sponsor of the TT races since 2007, when it launched its operation on the Isle of Man.
Sure will again operate a retail service from the TT grandstand with TT-branded SIM packs available for visitors to minimise roaming costs and a textline service to keep up to date with the latest race news, weather and road closure information.
The Department of Economic Development has also enhanced its newly developed app with a Sure TV mobile application which will allow fans to watch the post-race press conferences, as well as featuring all of the other app functions including live timing and race commentary.
Geoff Corkish, MBE, MLC, Political Member, Isle of Man Tourism echoed Mr Bridson’s comments, saying ‘Sure has become an integral partner of the TT Races providing not only financial assistance but also keeping us abreast of the latest technology and communications services so that fans and race officials can stay in touch.’
