China’s number one beer export, Tsingtao, WK Bikes and Hampshire Motorcycles & Quads brought the world’s first Chinese motorcycle to enter the prestigious Isle of Man TT road race to London, ahead of the race, which starts May 25th.

The lightweight WK650i has been built by Hampshire Motorcycles with Chinese parts imported by WK Bikes for the bikesocial.co.uk Lightweight TT Race which takes place on Friday 7th June.

Australian Dave Johnson, who made his Isle of Man TT debut in 2010, returned to the TT last year having missed the 2011 meeting. He scored top fifteen finishes in the Superbike and Superstock Races and recorded a fastest lap of 17m59.45s (125.831mph) around the Mountain Course. He has also won British Superstock races in 2012 and 2013.

James Wright from title sponsor, Tsingtao Beer, says:

“We’re really pleased to be supporting Hampshire Motorcycles and WK Bikes in 2013. The team has a successful history of top ten and podium finishes and the bikes for this year have benefitted from maximum investment to ensure optimum performance.”

Dave Tyson, leader of the Tsingtao WK Bikes team, says:

“A new lead sponsor has been a crucial part of our strategy for 2013 and it’s ensured we have all the elements in place for an unrivalled team. We’ve invested heavily in every component to ensure we have the maximum opportunity to put the Tsingtao WK Bikes Team firmly on the map.”
