Ingram set for Monster Energy Supersport campaign
John Ingram will be looking to build on the experience from his TT races debut last year and will again campaign on his 2010 Suzuki GSXR-1000 in the Dainese Superbike and PokerStars Senior TT races and the Honda Fireblade for this year's Royal London 360 Superstock at this year's meeting. The Wigan rider will also compete in the two Monster Energy Supersport Races on board the ex-Richard Cooper Tag Triumph from his 2012 British Supersport campaign.
Ingram’s career started in motocross and he was a relatively late starter, taking to tarmac as recently as 2005 but just a year later he was competing in the British Superstock 1000cc Championship, gaining a superb pole at the Brands Hatch Race and going on to score points at the majority of the rounds.
His career highlights include setting the outright lap record at Aintree in 2010, a record that still stands today and he also achieved an excellent sixth placed finish in the Superstock Race at Croft in 2011 with notable scalps including TT Racers John McGuinness and David Johnson. He went on to clinch the prestigious Mallory Park Buildbase Trophy in the same year.
Ingram's debut 2012 TT campaign included 35th in the Dainese Superbike, setting his fastest lap of 116.7mph in the process and he also finished 46th place in the Royal London 360 Race. His 2013 preparation has included wins in the Thundersport GP1.
Ingram has also confirmed that he will compete in the 2013 Classic TT Races on board a BSA Rocket 3 bike, which he will campaign in the Formula 1 race on Monday 26th August.
Commenting on his 2013 campaign John said:
"I was happy enough with my 2012 campaign but if you string together all my best sectors I've posted a 120mph lap so that has to be my target for this year. With the Senior being cancelled we lost out on a few laps but with doing the Supersport and also the Classic this year I'll more than make up for it this this year.
I've been very lucky to secure two sponsors in Morello Services who are helping me with the Superbike and Senior races and Gadgetbox.co.uk who have backed me for the Supersport and Superstock but I've also launched the '56' club after my race number. I'm looking for 56 people to chip in £56 quid each to be part of our operation. We've got a gallery board of members in the awning and the kettle is always on for any one of our team."
