Huge crowds turned out for the annual spectacular that is the Festival of Jurby.

Under sunny skies the Jurby airfiedl circuit resounded to the roar of hundreds of classic and vintage motorcycles paraded on the track.

Away from the circuits thousands more lined the old RAF base giving bike fans a viual treat second to none.

Rare machines on display included an AJS Porcupine, AJS 7R3, DKW 250ss and a Rennsport BMW.

The Laverda Owners Club put on an impressive range of the iconic Italian marque including road and race versions and there was a strong showing from the Italian Motorcycle Owners Club to complement the stand.

Stars of the motorcycle world mingled with crowd and featured such luminaries as Freddie Spencer, Kork Ballington, Steve Baker, Phil Read and Giacomo Agostini.

The queue for the signing tent stretched far into the paddock and the various t-shirt stalls did a roaring trade.

The stalwarts of the event proved, as always, to be the local branch of the VMCC who not only put on a great day out but provided many of the rare and exotic machines for the parades.

Tomorrow sees the second day of racing at the Classic TT - 350/250 race and the F1, F2 and Formula Classic
