Isle of Man ready for TT 2014 launch
The TT riders have started to arrive on the Isle of Man ahead of the launch for the 2014 Isle of Man TT Races fuelled by Monster Energy.
Rivals John McGuinness and Michael Dulop were the first to arrive with their Honda and BMW factory bikes, which were on display at the TT Grandstand for a shoot for the official programme.
Today (Tuesday 15th April) will sees the riders go head to head at Jurby in a series of Karting challenge races which will also feature Team Traction Control and Prodigy frontman Keith Flint and British Rally Champion Mark Higgins pitted against the leading TT riders. The event, which starts at 12 midday, is open to the public and is free to attend.
This evening (Tuesday) sees the official launch night at the Villa Marina. Hosted by ex-Blue Peter presenter Gethin Jones, with TV commentators James Whitham and Steve Parrish also on hand, the evening features the leading TT sidecar and solo racers including John McGuinness, Michael Dunlop, Conor Cummins, Gary Johnson, James Hillier, Bruce Anstey, Keith Amor, Ian Hutchinson, Michael Rutter, Dean Harrison and Josh Brookes, while sidecar teams Dave Molyneux/Patrick Farrance, Ben Birchall/Tom Birchall and Tim Reeves/Dan Sayle will also be there. There's also the chance to hear from TT newcomers Danny Webb, Peter Hickman and Martin Jessop while Keith Flint will talk about his alternative career, away from rock band The Prodigy, as a race team boss.
Doors open at 7.30 with tickets priced at £5.
