Bathams Prizewinning Ales completed a successful run at this years International North West 200 on Northern Ireland's Coleraine coast at the weekend.  With perfect racing conditions on the Thursday, Michael Rutter did not disappoint the crowds and put on a fantastic show of dogged determination to protect his ranking as one of the most successful riders around the world famous triangle circuit.

A satisfied Rutter commented on Thursday’s racing; “We got a good start in the Supersport race and were leading on the Smiths Triumph, but a miss fire put us back down to finish in 6th. In the second race, on the Bathams Superstock bike, we got off to a good start with Seeley leading the race.  I caught him and passed him, and then with Michael Dunlop it was a three man dice on the last lap.  We just missed out on the win to Seeley but it was a real good race, real exciting...”

He continues; “The big race day on Saturday was unfortunately mixed weather conditions and it made it very difficult to choose the tyres to suit what was happening on the track.  We had a sixth again on the Smiths Triumph - that was just down to the wrong tyres.  In the first Superbike race I lead for a bit on the Bathams BMW but the tyre was too soft and and the centre ended up getting ripped - we managed a forth but the conditions were so difficult.  In race 3 we were on the Bathams Superstock again - I got a good start and lead for 3 laps with me and Dunlop (Michael) changing positions, but Dunlop lead over the line on lap 4 and when it was red flagged it due to an incident, the race was called with us finishing second to Dunlop.  In the big Superbike race - I lead from the start, we just struggled to keep with the top three on the straights, we were running a superstock engine against factory superbikes so overall I’m really happy with the weeks qualifying and racing.  We were front row in every class, it was pretty decent.”

Rutter now heads to the Isle of Man to compete with Bathams Prizewinning Ales and Smiths Triumph in the TT races which run from 24th May until 6th June.
