Charley Boorman live at the Gaiety
Charley is no newcomer to the buzz of motorcycles, but ask him about the TT and you can see he’s just overwhelmed by the whole event. He’ll be the first to tell you that his attempt at the Dakar Rally in 2006 just doesn’t really compare to the magnitude of racing the TT. Charley described the racers as gladiators, every last one of them.
“I really find that words can’t describe the feelings, the emotions that get triggered over here at the TT. When you try and tell someone who’s never been before, they listen and nod, but you know that they just don’t get it. It’s magical.”
Charley’s life has been around bikes and as you’ll hear from the man himself, he was lucky to get a break when his travel documentary the Long Way Round rocketed to success all around the world. His good friend Ewan McGregor who laid his light sabre down after his major success with Star Wars travelled with Charley from London to New York heading east on two BMW GS 1200 Adventure bikes – the rest his history.
His Live Show at the Gaiety was a roaring success last time he was here and sold out. With great stories to tell and hilarious moments to see on the big screen, this is a fantastic night out for bikers and armchair adventurers alike.
