TT star Donald dominates road race
TT rising star Cameron Donald has shown he is on the pace ahead of the Centenary running of the world-famous road race.
The Australian will be contesting the Isle of Man TT for the third time this year, and will be hoping to go one better than the second place he scored in the Blue-riband Senior TT in 2006.
With the TT festival starting on May 26, Cam's preparations continued at the Cookstown event over the weekend. He won the race of the day, the Royal Hotel and Braeside Cookstown 100 - and set a new absolute course record on his way to victory.
The 28-year-old added a win in the Supersport 600, a second in the Open race and another lap record to his tally. The results give him the early lead after the first round of the Duke Road Race Rankings championship, the series which includes the TT as a round.
Other results from Cookstown showed the Centenary TT will offer some mouthwatering racing.
In the big race Cam's Uel Duncan Racing teammate Keith Amor, who is making his TT debut this year, finished second, with Manxman Connor Cummins - who proved such a star at the TT last year - third.
Keith took victory in the Open race and another second, while Connor claimed another third and a fourth on his Millsport Yamaha.
Another TT star, Raymond Porter, showed promise, but was frustrated in his hunt for a podium place. However, he managed fifth in the Supersport 600. Adrian Archibald was among the other TT stars in action in Cookstown.
