Nathan Harrison to Lead Star-Studded Classic TT Formula One Field
Manxman Nathan Harrison has been awarded the prestigious Number 1 plate for the headline Classic TT Formula One race, taking place during the upcoming 2026 Classic TT and Manx Grand Prix festival (16–28 August). Harrison, riding for Greenall Racing aboard a beautifully prepped Kawasaki ZXR750, will lead a star-studded grid away down Bray Hill when competitive action commences.
Mike Browne sets off at No.2 ahead of Australia’s David Johnson (No.3) and Greenall Racing teammate Jamie Coward (No.4). Ducati-mounted Rob Hodson takes the No.5 slot, while all-time TT wins record holder Michael Dunlop MBE will launch his assault from his favoured Number 6 position aboard the Team Classic Suzuki.
Peter Hickman Locks In Return to Classic TT Aboard Rotary Norton
In one of the biggest talking points of the seeded entry reveal, 14-time TT winner Peter Hickman will make his first appearance at the Classic TT since 2015. Running at Number 10, Hickman has signed up with WizNorton Racing to pilot their iconic, fire-breathing rotary Norton in the Formula One encounter.
Hickman’s inclusion adds massive star power to the classic ranks following his recent short-circuit and national victories at Oliver's Mount and Chimay. Fellow top seeds behind Hickman include local favourites Conor Cummins (No.11) on the Steadplan Kawasaki, Michael Evans (No.14), and reigning Senior MGP champion Joe Yeardsley (No.19).
Peter Hickman: "It's been a while since I've been out at the Classic TT, but when the opportunity came up to ride the rotary Norton with the WizNorton crew, I couldn't say no. The sound alone is going to bring back so many memories for the fans on the hedges. We're going out there to have some fun, but as always, once the visor drops, we want to put on a show."

Transport infrastructure on the Isle of Man has officially been cleared for maximum capacity. Specialist contractors Thotech International have confirmed the completion of a major resurfacing project on the linkspan at Victoria Pier in Douglas, laying over 750 square metres of heavy-duty, anti-skid road deck.
The infrastructure upgrade ensures the primary sea gateway is fully prepared to handle thousands of travelling fans, support vans, and classic racing machinery expected to disembark starting this weekend. John McGuinness 30th Anniversary Parade Logistics Finalised
Final parade lap details have been confirmed to honour John McGuinness MBE as he marks 30 years of competitive racing on the Snaefell Mountain Course. The 'Morecambe Missile', who made his debut in 1996, will take part in a special, emotionally charged tribute lap during race week on Wednesday, 26 August.
McGuinness will ride the exact 2007 HM Plant Honda Fireblade, wearing identical retro leathers, that he piloted to become the first rider in history to smash the 130mph lap barrier. An exclusive public exhibition showcasing 30 years of his bikes, trophies, and race suits will open in the TT Paddock next Monday alongside the official technical inspection bays.
MGP Newcomers Prepare for Sunday Familiarisation Laps
The opening track sessions for the 2026 Manx Grand Prix are officially less than six days away. Roads around the 37.73-mile course are scheduled to close on Sunday, 16 August, for the vital Newcomers' speed-controlled familiarisation laps, followed immediately by opening free practice for the Senior and Junior MGP categories.
A strong international roster of 22 road racing debutants from nine different nations will complete their mandatory travelling marshal-led laps before being cleared for full-speed qualifying sessions throughout next week.
