Innovative hotel concept confirmed for 2012 Isle of Man TT

An innovative portable hotel concept will provide additional accommodation during the 2012 Isle of Man TT fuelled by Monster Energy, it has been confirmed.
Snoozebox have announced a joint initiative with the Isle of Man Department of Economic Development’s Tourism and Motorsport Division and official TT travel partner Regency Travel for the provision of accommodation during this year’s festival.
Snoozebox is a self-contained portable hotel comprising of 240 en-suite rooms and requires no mains services to be fully operational. The units will be housed at Noble’s Park as part of the TT village.
Noble’s Park owner Douglas Borough Council has agreed to hire the land and the project has been passed by the planning authorities.
Designed inside 45 foot shipping containers, each twin bedroom has an en-suite shower and toilet, air conditioning, flat screen TV, personal safe and WiFi. The hotel can be open for business within 48 hours of arriving on site.
Department of Economic Development Member for the Tourism Geoff Corkish said:
“There is a huge demand for TT accommodation each year over and above the industry provision.”
“Despite the growing response to Homestay and campsite provision we still need to meet increasing demand at this period.”
“This is an exciting initiative to provide temporary quality accommodation as the popularity of the TT continues to grow.”

Snoozebox already has a racing pedigree – its president is former Formula One driver David Coulthard and the hotel concept has been used at such international motorsport events as the British Grand Prix.
