Organisers Execute Major Schedule Overhaul Ahead of Severe Late-Week Weather
Event officials from the ACU and Manx Motor Cycle Club issued an emergency schedule revision over the weekend to protect the competitive integrity of the 2026 Manx Grand Prix and Classic TT. With long-range meteorological forecasts pointing to heavy rainfall, high winds, and severe track saturation from Wednesday 26 August onward, race control brought forward the majority of the flagship races.
Under the revised emergency timetable, competitive racing was pulled forward to Saturday and Sunday, with today (Monday, 24 August) hosting a four-race marathon that includes the Junior MGP, Historic Senior Classic TT, Senior MGP, and Junior 600 Classic TT. The entire festival will now conclude a full three days early on Tuesday, 25 August, capped by the Senior Classic TT, the 1996 Rewind Parade, and the John McGuinness MBE 30th Anniversary Tribute Parade.
Michael Dunlop Dominates Formula 1 Classic TT in Masterful Display
Michael Dunlop MBE extended his astonishing winning record on the Snaefell Mountain Course on Sunday, 23 August, producing a fierce performance to win the Formula 1 Classic TT race. Riding his Team Classic Suzuki, Dunlop completed the three-lap encounter in 53:32.950, managing his pace over the high-speed sections to cross the line 20.579 seconds clear of Greenall Racing's Jamie Coward.
Coward pushed hard throughout the final lap, but Dunlop's opening flying lap gave him a cushion he never relinquished. Mike Browne rounded out the podium on his Kawasaki ZXR750, with Manx favourite Nathan Harrison securing a strong fourth-place finish.

Piloting his trusty 250cc Honda, Dunlop put on a masterclass in two-stroke riding, finishing the three-lap race in 57:44.357 to claim victory by a massive margin of 3 minutes and 3.56 seconds over runner-up Michael Sweeney. Rhys Hardisty rounded out the top three on his Yamaha, while international contender Chris Meyer put in a creditable performance to place 13th.
Heavyweight Action Shifts to Monday Marathon: Four Races Lock in Today
Paddock mechanics were working through the night to prepare for today's (Monday, 24 August) intensive race day. Roads around the 37.73-mile course closed at 09:30 BST to facilitate four separate race encounters before the weather begins to deteriorate on Tuesday evening.
The morning action kicked off with the 3-lap Junior Manx Grand Prix, featuring top starters Andy Farrell, Chris Cook, and Johnny Stewart. That is followed immediately by the Historic Senior Classic TT, before the premier 4-lap Senior Manx Grand Prix takes to the circuit at 14:15 BST. The marathon day will conclude with an evening session for the Junior 600 Classic TT at 18:30 BST.
