Dutch Ace Jaimie van Sikkelerus Formulates 2027 Isle of Man TT Debut Plans
Former British Supersport race winner and multiple top-five championship contender Jaimie van Sikkelerus has confirmed he is actively working on plans to make his Mountain Course debut at the 2027 Isle of Man TT Races.
The Dutch rider, widely admired for his aggressive racecraft and determination across British and European paddocks, has begun the formal newcomer evaluation and study process. Van Sikkelerus aims to contest the middleweight categories, viewing the new Sportbike and Supersport technical regulations as the ideal platform to tackle the 37.73-mile course.
Jaimie van Sikkelerus: "Racing on the Mountain Course is something that has lived in my mind for a very long time. The TT commands absolute respect and preparation, so we are taking every step seriously, studying onboards, planning track learning visits, and making sure the machinery and backing are 100% correct. To become a TT competitor in 2027 is a huge ambition, and we are working flat out to make it a reality."
Macau GP Countdown: Logistics Teams Clear Far East Customs as Travel Begins
The paddock countdown to the 58th Macau Motorcycle Grand Prix (19–22 November 2026) has entered its penultimate phase. Sea freight containers carrying primary Superbike and Superstock machinery from British and European workshops have docked in port, with customs inspections and paddock load-in scheduled for early next week at the Guia Circuit.
Four-time winner Peter Hickman (Zeeco BMW by 8TEN Racing) heads the 20-rider entry list, supported by experienced street racers including Rob Hodson (SMT Racing), Michael Evans (RC Express Racing), Phil Crowe, and Paul Jordan. With defending champion Davey Todd absent due to compliance regulations, rival teams view this year's event as one of the most open battles between the armco barriers in recent memory.
International Roads Focus: European Contenders Reflect on 2026 Paddock Gains
With the European tarmac season wrapped up, international road racers are taking stock of a grueling season while locking down machinery for 2027. In a series of post-season reviews across Road Racing News, leading overseas contenders, including twice Danish Superbike Champion August Kroon, Sweden's Markus Karlsson, and Italian hill-climb specialist Maurizio Bottalico, highlighted the steep learning curves of both the Manx Grand Prix and the International Road Racing Championship (IRRC).
Bottalico, who aligns with Erno Kostamo’s RVS Motorsport outfit for his upcoming Macau assault, noted that European road racers are increasingly bridging the gap between continental closed-road courses and the Snaefell Mountain Course, setting up an influx of international entries for the 2027 road racing summer.
Paddock Transfer Whispers: Winter Testing Restrictions Loom
Behind workshop doors, privateer and independent teams are finalising machinery contracts before formal ACU winter testing restrictions take effect at the end of the month.
With the TT confirming the complete adoption of Carole Nash Sportbike regulations for 2027, several outfits are completing late purchases of twin-cylinder and triple-cylinder machines, including Yamaha R7, Aprilia RS660, and Triumph Daytona 660 platforms, to begin early dyno development before the testing freeze begins on 1 December.
